METAPHYSICS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE DIVINE
The past several years has witnessed the remarkable recovery of participatory metaphysics in both historical and constructive contexts. Participation constitutes a radically non-dualistic way of conceptualizing the relationship between God and creation, transcendence and immanence, the One in the many. It represents a theological and philosophical resource with a pedigree over 2,000 years old. This book explores the centrality of this concept to inChristian thought through four central themes: creation, being, anthropology, human activity. Figures such as Irenaeus, Augustine, Aquinas and Nicholas of Cusa play a central role in this exposition.
This book will be published by Cambridge University Press in early 2025.
